1941 chapter 20296 and 20817 (Seminole County)

In 1941 the state legislature established a whole bunch of (potential) state roads. That year, the State Road Department stopped assigning numbers to all such proposed roads, only adding new numbers as roads were taken over (or otherwise established?). Of course the renumbering happened in 1945, entirely eliminating the numbers of many older potential state roads. The following were designated in chapter 20296; it seems that the first 40 or so had been paved by the county:


  1. Monroe Road, 1.5 mi. SR 44 (46) north to SR 3 (15-600). Post-1945 SR 15 (part of a cutoff).
  2. Old Monroe Road, 1.3 mi. SR 44 (46) north-west to #1. Now White Cedar Road and Church Street.
  3. Rand Siding Road, 1.05 mi. #2 east-south to SR 44 (46). Now Narcissus Avenue and Randyard Road.
  4. C.M. Berry Road, 0.73 mi. Railroad east-south to SR 44 (46). Now Narcissus Avenue and Riverview Avenue.
  5. Monroe School Road, 0.18 mi. #1 east to railroad. Now School Street.
  6. Meisch Road, 0.50 mi. #2 west to #1. Now Iowa Avenue.
  7. Orange Boulevard, 3.4 mi. SR 44 (46) north-northeast-east to #1. Note that SR 44 was on Wayside Drive.
  8. Smith Siding & Brady Store Road, 1.35 mi.
    • SR 44 (46) south to railroad. Now Airport Boulevard (post-1945 SR 425, former Grapeville Avenue).
    • SR 44 (46) south-east to first part. Now MLK Boulevard (former Bevier Road) and St. Johns Parkway (former Jewett Lane).
    • First part west to second part. Now 5th Street.
  9. Paola & Country Club Road, 7.20 mi. SR 44 (46) south-east-northeast-east to #11. Now Orange Boulevard (post-1945 SR 431) (note that SR 44 was on Wayside Drive), H.E. Thomas Jr. Parkway (post-1945 SR 46A), and Country Club Road-20th Street (post-1945 SR 46A).
  10. Goldsboro Street & Southwest Road, 1.85 mi. #11 west-southwest to #9. Now 13th Street and Southwest Road.
  11. French Avenue & Cemetery Road, 1.85 mi. 9th Street south-west to cemeteries. Now French Avenue (post-1945 SR 15-600) and H.E. Thomas Jr. Parkway.
  12. Longwood-Markham Road, 10.95 mi. SR 44 (46) south-east-south-east-south-southeast to Longwood. Now Longwood Markham Road, Markham Road, Markham Woods Road, E.E. Williamson Road, Range Line Road, and Church Avenue (probably ending at Florida Avenue).
  13. Paola-Markham Road, 1.40 mi. #9 west to #12. Now Markham Road.
  14. Paola to Trilby Junction, 0.30 mi. #9 east to railroad. Now 1st Street.
  15. Lake Mary Road, 4.25 mi. #9 south-west-south to #21. Now Country Club Road (post-1945 SR 15, part of a cutoff).
  16. Palm Springs Road, 3.00 mi. #21 west-southwest to Palm Springs. Now Warren Avenue (post-1945 SR 434) and current SR 434.
